Is Green Insurance an insurance company?
No. Green Insurance is an independent insurance agency. We are licensed to sell policies from more than ten A+ rated carriers. The carrier issues and pays the policy; we help you choose it and we stay with you afterward.
Does it cost anything to use an agent?
No. You pay the same premium whether you buy through us or directly from the carrier. We are paid by the carrier, not by you.
What states do you cover?
Life, health, dental and commercial insurance: all 50 states. Auto insurance: 18 states — Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Montana, Texas, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Alabama, New Jersey, Iowa, Michigan, Georgia, South Carolina, Idaho, Nebraska, Oregon, Minnesota and Missouri.
Do I have to come to an office?
No. Everything can be done online or by phone. We have five offices in Georgia if you prefer in person.
Do you have agents who speak Spanish?
Yes. Native Spanish-speaking agents handle the entire process in Spanish, including the policy documents and claims.
How long does a quote take?
Auto and dental are usually same day. Health depends on whether you are in an enrollment period. Life depends on the coverage amount and whether the carrier requires medical underwriting.
Can I get health insurance if it is not Open Enrollment?
Only with a Special Enrollment Period, triggered by a life event such as losing job-based coverage, marriage, a birth, or a move. You generally have 60 days from the event.
Can I get life insurance without a medical exam?
Some carriers offer coverage with no exam, up to certain amounts and age limits. Whether you qualify depends on your age, the amount and your health history. Ask us and we will tell you which carriers will consider you.
Can I get insurance without a Social Security number?
For auto insurance, several of the carriers we represent accept an ITIN or a foreign license. Which ones and under what conditions depends on the state. Ask us before you assume you cannot get covered. For health insurance, eligibility depends on immigration status. Lawful permanent residents and other lawfully present immigrants can enroll in Marketplace coverage.
What do I need to get an auto quote?
Your driver’s license or ITIN, the year, make and model of the vehicle, the address where it is parked, and the names of anyone else who drives it.
What is the minimum auto coverage I need?
It depends on the state, and the state minimum is often not enough to protect you. Texas requires 30/60/25. Florida requires only $10,000 PIP and $10,000 property damage, and does not require bodily injury coverage at all. We will tell you what your state requires and what we would actually recommend.
Can I bundle policies?
Yes, and it often lowers the total. Because we are independent, we can also split your policies across different carriers when that is cheaper than bundling — which is something a captive agent cannot do.
What happens if I have a claim?
Call us. We are the ones who walk you through it. You are not starting over with a call center that has never heard of you.
How do I cancel or change a policy?
Call your office directly or 1 (833) 224-5168. Do not stop paying to cancel a policy — a lapse in coverage can raise your rate for years and, for auto, can carry a state penalty.
